What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

Watson's Watch is divided into three segments or episodes as we refer to them. The first major segment or episode of the game is complete and we really want to reward you with the ability to buy that first piece without needing to wait for the rest of the game. Additionally, with how the game is being made, it does not make sense to us to release three individual titles or DLC packs that are trying to tell one larger story. With this in mind we are turning to Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Without giving a hard deadline we would like to have the game done in the next couple of months. We cannot see the future and we are only have a limited amount of time for two people. It really just depends on how smoothly things go. This is part of the reason we wanted to turn to Early Access as we did not want to punish you with a far off release date for supporting the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is only one piece of the Watson's Watch story. This version will be an introduction to the game and its story. We are not giving you an extended demo or a tech demo, this will be the full story of the introductory episode.

The planned final version of the game will feature all three episodes of the Watson's Watch story. This saves everyone the trouble of needing to wait and purchase three separate titles just to find out the entire story.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of the game will start with Episode 1 of the story. It will be mostly if not completely finished. Following that, we hope that feedback from you will help us further polish this Episode as we move forward with making the next segment of the game.

Once we complete the next segment we plan to release it to all of you in a similar quality level as the first episode. Rather than constantly update the game and give you broken cliffhangers and glitches we plan to finish each segment and give you a quality product each time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At this current time we do not foresee any pricing changes between the Early Access and Final versions of this game. Not everything is final but that is the direction we are planning on heading.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Finally, we really hope that we can connect with you and hear your thoughts about Watson's Watch. We wholeheartedly want this game to be something you can enjoy. We want to hear what you have to say and hopefully implement more than just bug fixes and glitches that you catch but rather implement entire features based around your suggestions.”
